School Website

Godwin Wecoch Schools is a co-educational day school in Lekki, Lagos, established in 2016. I built its full website to present the school with the same warmth and rigour it shows in person, guiding prospective parents from first impression through to application.

Case study

How Godwin Wecoch Schools came together

01

The problem

The school needed an online presence that matched its quality and its guiding philosophy, Quality People equals Knowledge, Life Skills, Morality, and Confidence. Parents had no clear digital path to understand the school and begin an application.

02

Research

I looked at how parents actually evaluate a school, then mapped the admissions journey and gathered the school identity, programmes by stage, and facilities so the structure could reflect real decision making.

03

Planning

I organised the site around the parent decision path. Identity and mission first, then academics broken into nursery, primary, and secondary, then facilities, events, and a direct route into admissions.

04

Design

The design leads with a hero video and a calm, credible visual language. Navigation is simple, the campus gallery showcases the equipped science labs and creative spaces, and every section builds trust toward an enquiry.

05

Development

I built the site on Next.js 14 with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion, optimised every image, kept the pages responsive across devices, and deployed on Vercel.

06

Challenges

The hardest part was preparing a large set of school photographs, including removing watermarks, and working through several rounds of content corrections from the school.

07

Solutions

I set up an asset pipeline to clean and optimise images, and structured the content so each round of revisions could be applied quickly without disturbing the layout.

08

Outcomes

The school gained a fast, brand aligned website that presents it credibly and channels prospective families toward scheduling a visit and applying.

09

What I learned

For an institution, the website has to mirror the care it gives in person, and disciplined asset and content handling is most of the work.
